The grand air- show in India takes place biennially at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bangalore. The
Aero India 2009 Exhibition
is organized by the Defense Ministry of India in association with the Federation of India Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The fourth largest air show in the world the Aero India is one of the major exhibitions in India as it includes both air displays and exhibitions of various aircrafts of the Indian Air Force. The Aero India has been conducted 6 times in India and the last three editions showcased some of the most advanced technologies and aviation equipments:

The 4th Edition, 2003
Held on the February 5 to 9, the fourth edition of Aero India Exhibition witnessed presence of 176 companies from 22 countries. Inaugurated by the then Defense Minister of India the event was attended by the delegates from the United States, Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Asia- Pacific and Africa. The French delegations was led by the Prime Minister of France was one of the lead delegates of the event.
The 5th Edition, 2005
The 5th edition of the exhibition was held from the February 09- 13, 2005. The 5th edition was a hit as it attracted a huge crowd of 380 exhibitors belonging to world’s leading industries.
The show included a total of 80 aircrafts including the Fighter Jets, Light Combat Aircraft, Advanced Light Helicopters, Intermediate Jet Trainers, Maritime Surveillance Aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Other attractions of the finest India Exhibitions were the colorful aerobatics performance by Sarang, the Indian Air Force’s Advanced Light Helicopters. Out of all the exhibitions in Bangalore the Aero India has proven to be an ideal event for passenger aircraft manufacturers and producers to find aviation links and for building alliances.

The 6th Edition, 2007
The 6th edition took place in 2007 from 7th February to 11th February at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bangalore. The event was yet again the centre of interest round the world and contains records of visits by the numerous international delegations. The major attractions of the event were the fabulous displays by the Surya Kiran, the demonstration team of Indian Air Force and Sarang, the helicopter formation display team. Other attractions of this aviation exhibition in India were the MiG-35, Lockheed- Martin F-16 and the Boeing F/A- 18E/F Super Hornet all contenders for the MRCA requirements of Indian Air Force’s 126 aircraft. The Aero India every time brings an occasion of celebration and provides great business possibilities and hence is one of the most awaited events in the world.
